People who get in touch with Noaks Ark are People who are living with HIV, relatives, families where someone has HIV, and others who need support to deal with a life situation affected by HIV. You who turn to us can be sure to meet staff and volunteers with solid knowledge, experience, and commitment. Our trained psychotherapists have many years of experience in meeting people who are HIV-positive and their relatives.
Activities for you who are living with HIV or are a close relative
The Noaks Ark associations are, for many, an oasis where you can meet others in the same situation, participate in activities or just feel safe to be who you are without secrets about your HIV diagnosis. We have local associations all the way from Luleå in the north to Malmö in the south. We regularly organize activities for families where someone is living with HIV. We also offer discussion groups, individual support conversations, psychotherapy, lectures, themed evenings, and camp activities for those living with HIV or those close to them.

You who are living with HIV or are a close relative are always welcome to learn more about HIV with us at Noaks Ark, we are there for you both in small and big issues. Many of our local associations organize basic training on HIV that you are welcome to take part in.
Psychosocial support and counseling
If you want to meet someone to talk about your HIV, you are warmly welcome to Noaks Ark. Call and make an appointment for a conversation or therapy. If you want to meet others who are living with HIV, you are welcome to participate in one of our discussion groups that meet regularly. We offer help in contacting authorities, for example, the social service or the Swedish Migration Agency. We can also accompany you to your doctor. We are here for you.

Conversations
At Noaks Ark, we encounter people’s thoughts about HIV, sexuality, and relationships on a daily basis. Conversations and counseling can take place by telephone, at booked appointments, or spontaneous conversations both in and outside Noaks Ark’s premises. It is always possible to be anonymous in the beginning. The need for conversation is expressed on the initiative of HIV-positive people themselves, by authorities, healthcare, various personnel, and civil servants. The conversations can, for example, be about medical problems, side effects, alcohol problems, depression, anxiety, financial problems, sex and relationships, risks, fears, anxiety, psychiatric problems, and limitations. Psychotherapy at Noaks Ark
Do you need help understanding or dealing with your problems? Living with HIV can mean an increased vulnerability to suffering from depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. Cognitive psychotherapy can be a way to find balance in life.
Cognitive therapy is based on your thoughts, feelings, and actions and offers a way to understand the connection between them. The method is an established form of treatment for example, depression, panic disorder, attachment- and relationship problems.
Our educated therapists at Noaks Ark have extensive knowledge of HIV and many years of experience with HIV-related issues. We offer cognitive psychotherapy at a reduced cost for HIV-positive people, relatives of HIV-positive people, and people who are at risk of retrieving an HIV infection.
Noaks Ark offers cognitive therapy in Stockholm, Östergötland, Småland, Skåne, and Blekinge.
