Health Focus (Hälsospåret): Fall Prevention for Older Adults

People living with HIV have an increased risk of osteoporosis, which can raise the risk of fractures. Fall safety for the elderly is part of the Swedish Judo Federation’s program Judo4Balance. The course strengthens balance, strength, and body control, while teaching safe falling techniques, which increases everyday safety and reduces the risk of injury in the event of a fall.
You will participate in all sessions. We start with a 50-minute course and conclude with a lighter dinner and discussion. At the meeting on September 30, dietitian Aline Infanger Pendeza will give a short lecture on nutrition related to bone health.
Who it’s for: People living with HIV in the Stockholm region. The course is aimed at individuals over 60 years old, but younger people are also welcome.
Date and time: 23 September, 30 September and 7 October, 17:30-19:15.
Location: ABF Stockholm, Sveavägen 41
Registration: Limited number of spots available, prior registration is required. People over 60 years old will be prioritized.
Additional information: The event is free of charge
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Consellor Kenneth Fjällborg.
