Noaks Ark Mosaik at Infect@LU 2026
On April 7th, Noaks Ark Mosaik joined researchers, clinicians, and epidemiologists at the 2nd Annual Infect@LU Day at Lund University’s LUX Aula in Lund.
Our team presented a poster abstract titled “Beyond HIV Exceptionalism: Lessons from an Integrated Community-Based HIV and STI Testing Model in Sweden”, delivered by Ibado Elmi and Abimbola Ajomale.
The work draws on our integrated approach to HIV and STI testing , one that centres community leadership, applies an intersectional lens, and refuses to separate people’s health from their broader social realities. It is part of our just concluded contribution to the CORE – COmmunity REsponse to End Inequalities initiative, a European network committed to tackling the structural drivers of HIV, TB, and viral hepatitis.
At Infect@LU, we had meaningful exchanges with key stakeholders from the Epidemiology, Spread and Control Node. Conversations that reinforce why community organisations must sit alongside academia in shaping research agendas.
We believe evidence generated with communities is the most powerful evidence of all.
Special thanks to Prof. Per Björkman, Dr. Nicla Winqvist, Dr. Marianne Alanko Blomé and Dr. Fredrik Månsson for their continued support.
