In the association there are several interesting opportunities for volunteer work. Volunteering for Noaks Ark Sm\u00e5land & Halland gives you increased knowledge about HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as well as sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). What experiences and knowledge do you have that you want to contribute to the association’s development? There are a number of possible tasks that you can do as a volunteer at Noaks Ark Sm\u00e5land & Halland. Together we will come up with a volunteer assignment that suits you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n As an informant, you go out and talk about HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as well as sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), LGBTQ for different target groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Examples of target groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a volunteer, you are an important representative of the association. You have a key role in anchoring knowledge about our subjects and in reducing stigma and discrimination. As an informant, it is good if you have a genuine interest in HIV, STI, LGBTQ and SRHR issues. You are comfortable speaking in front of larger groups. If you have experience of lecturing, leading group discussions, or similar, it is of great value. It is advantageous if you have an interest in educational issues and conveying information to people. As an informant, you plan, implement and evaluate various activities, such as lectures, educations, fairs, and information desks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a host at the test reception, you prepare the test room and waiting room and greet people who come to the test reception when we are open on Mondays at 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm. At closing hours, you put the premises in order. Another task in the role of the host is to hand out self-sampling tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea. In your work as a host, you are important in how you treat the visitors. You make visitors feel welcome and well taken care of when they visit us. You have a central role in the test team as you are the one who ensures that the work at the test reception runs smoothly. You are the on-site coordinator. This role suits those who are studying at university and high school as you can combine this task with on-site studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Get involved in our psychosocial support activities for people living with HIV and their relatives. You will help with practical tasks, psychosocial activities, conversations, and other issues that may arise. As a volunteer in the support activities, we want you to have a background in, or in the process of being trained as, a sociologist, teacher, pedagogue, psychologist, therapist, nurse, doctor, or something else in health care. In this part of the organization, we are often faced with questions of a legal nature, therefore we would like to see volunteers with experience and competence in law. You make a difference in our support activities. Evaluation from volunteers shows that involvement in support activities provides personal value, meaning, knowledge, and valuable experiences from meeting people living with HIV, from different cultures and backgrounds.
